Prayer Time Methodology
Data Source
We request prayer times from Aladhan API for the selected date and city. Qatar city pages use city-based requests; location-based tools can request times for selected coordinates.
Calculation Method
Qatar uses method 2: Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), with 15-degree Fajr and Isha angles. The Asr school setting is 0: Standard/Shafi. We send no custom minute adjustments for Qatar.
Location & Timezone
Qatar times are displayed in Asia/Qatar (UTC+3). Doha is the reference for general Qatar views; city pages request their own city. The configured Doha reference coordinates are 25.2854, 51.531. Local city times can differ.
Prayer Boundaries
Fajr begins at its calculated start and ends at Sunrise. Sunrise is not one of the five obligatory prayers. Maghrib begins at sunset. The interface uses displayed prayer boundaries to organize the day; these indicators are not a ruling on every detail of valid prayer windows.
Mosque Schedules vs Calculated Times
Calculated prayer starts are separate from mosque iqamah and Friday khutbah times. Iqamah offsets and stored Jumu'ah references in the directory are planning estimates. Follow the mosque's announcement and confirm congregation times locally.
Data Failure / Availability
A cached provider response can be reused for its requested date. If valid data cannot be obtained, an unavailable state replaces fixed default times. Countdown and upcoming-prayer estimates require valid inputs.
Updates / Corrections
Mosque references display their recorded review date without a promised weekly review cycle. To report a problem, email qatarprayerstime@gmail.com with the city, date and timing concerned.
