Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what information is processed when you use qatarprayerstime.com, why the site uses it, and which choices you have. It covers website analytics, browser storage, location tools and messages you choose to send us.
1. Information We Collect
You can read prayer schedules without submitting a name or email address. If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide.
- Usage information: page visits, referring pages and interactions with tools.
- Technical information: browser, operating system, device type and network requests, including IP-related processing by hosting and analytics services.
- Location information: approximate location derived by analytics, and coordinates when you permit a location tool to use them.
- Browser preferences: language, saved locations, settings and progress stored on your device.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to deliver pages and tool results, remember preferences, understand which pages are used, identify performance problems and respond to messages or correction reports. Coordinates support the location feature you request.
Please do not include passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information in feedback or screenshots.
3. Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits and tool interactions. Cookies such as _ga and _ga_B91PL807LB distinguish browsers and help measure sessions. Analytics can receive page URLs, device details and interaction events.
Google Analytics 4 uses IP information to derive approximate location but does not log or store individual IP addresses in Analytics. These measurements do not give us access to other files on your device.
4. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights
Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregate information about visits, pages, referrers, devices and approximate geographic location. It does not use third-party cookies; visitor measurement uses a temporary identifier derived from request information.
Vercel Speed Insights measures page loading and responsiveness to help identify performance problems.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies, local storage and session storage serve different purposes. Clearing site data can remove saved preferences and progress.
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Language | NEXT_LOCALE cookie and browser storage | Remember the selected language. |
| Analytics | _ga cookies and local usage-event records | Measure traffic and interactions. The local event list keeps up to 250 records. |
| Tool preferences | Saved Qibla location, routines, reminders, checklists, dhikr counts, monthly plans and favorites | Restore choices and progress in the same browser. |
| Session state | Session flags and announcement state | Avoid repeating session-specific notices or events. |
6. Location Permissions
Qibla and nearby-mosque tools can request your location through the browser. Coordinates are used to calculate direction or distance. A saved Qibla location can remain in local storage.
The Tahajjud location tool sends coordinates to Aladhan for prayer times and to OpenStreetMap Nominatim for a place name. You can deny or revoke permission and use available city presets instead. Denying location does not prevent you from reading city timetables.
7. Third-Party Services
Current integrations include Google Analytics, Vercel hosting and measurement services, Aladhan prayer data, and OpenStreetMap Nominatim for the location lookup described above. Messages sent to our Gmail address are also handled by the email providers involved.
Opening a map, image-source or other external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. That provider receives the request needed to open the destination; this policy does not control its subsequent processing.
8. Data Sharing
The integrations described above receive information needed for their functions, such as a page request, analytics event or coordinate lookup. Sending us email passes the message through email services. Use of the site can therefore involve processing by these providers, not only by Qatar PrayerTime.
The site does not currently run AdSense or serve personalized advertising. If advertising services are introduced, this policy will be updated to explain the relevant sharing, cookies and choices.
9. Data Retention
Local storage can remain until you clear site data, use a feature's reset control, or the browser removes it. Session storage is generally tied to a browser tab's session. Cookies expire according to their settings or can be deleted sooner.
Analytics and performance records follow the relevant service settings and retention practices. This policy does not promise one fixed retention period for all provider records or support emails. Contact us to request deletion of information you have sent by email.
10. Security
The public website uses HTTPS for data in transit. Browser storage also depends on the security of your device and browser profile; someone with access to that profile may be able to view saved information.
No website, device or email service can guarantee complete security. Avoid sending sensitive information and clear saved site data on shared devices when appropriate.
11. International Data Processing
The external providers named here operate services beyond Qatar. Requests and related information may be processed outside Qatar. The site does not promise that all hosting, analytics or email processing takes place in Qatar; the providers' policies describe their processing arrangements.
12. Your Choices
The website currently has no separate analytics consent preference panel. Browser controls and the options above are the choices presently available.
- Block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser. Saved preferences and progress may be removed or stop working.
- Deny or revoke location and notification permissions.
- Use available city presets instead of sharing your coordinates.
- Use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on if supported. It affects Google Analytics, not every service described here.
- Contact us about information you have sent by email.
13. Children's Privacy
Prayer schedules can be read without submitting personal details. Please do not send a child's personal information in feedback, attachments or correction reports. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the site's contact address, email us so the message can be identified and the concern reviewed.
14. Changes to This Policy
This policy may change when the website's features or services change. The last-updated date identifies the current version. New advertising services, if introduced, will require updated disclosure of their cookies and choices.
15. Contact
For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us, email Qatar PrayerTime. Identify the relevant message or feature without including unnecessary personal information.
